Red branches and tubes on side of Frogspawn?

Does anybody know what these red branches and tubes are on the base of this frogspawn? The picture shows the tubes coming off the coral's skeleton and the red flower looking branches just below. Are these things something to be concerned about with regards to the corals health? Should I try to remove them of with a toothbrush?

I'm not really sure about those tubes though. Are they hard or soft?

Thanks for the reply and link. Great site.

The tubes are hard. They are around half an inch in length. I've found them on the rocks too, mostly out of the direct light. I don't mind them but just want to make sure they aren't some type of pest that will spread over time.

Now that I check out that site, I believe they are Vermetids. I'll keep an eye on them in the future cause it says they can irritate corals.
