OK I have a breakout of Red Bubble algae. I have tried pulling it out changing my lighting times etc.... I have an emerald crab he isn't touching it. Any other suggestions besides pulling it and taking the chance of breaking it and it spreading.

I tried a search, but unfortunately search is down due to overload.

Uh, I've had this a couple of times. Pulled out what I could, did a water change and increased circulation towards those areas. Also, would this by any chance be growing in tank areas that are getting more heat?

Remember, check your nutrient load and clean any prefilters it may be growing on (actually if it's growing predominately on these, that may be a clue to the source of the problem).

EEEPS! Let me clarify, I'm talking about the red bubbly and slimey cyanobacteria stuff that folks sometimes refer to as "red bubble algea". Not a rhodophyta algae.
