Red bubble like alge

I have this bubble like macro alge in a few spots in my tank, it came in with my clam, i scraped it all off of him but it looks like i may have spread some spores.

Im seeing a few "bubbles" of this stuff pop up next to a few zoos and the zoos seem to be retracting and almost melting away from this alge.

What is the red bubble like alge and has anyone else had it affect their zoas?

Its probably red bubble algae... lol ;) Not sure of the Scientific name, but still... Its as much of a nuisance as is the Green Variation, except that the skin of the algae isn't as tough, which means the likelyhood of removing without speading its spores throughout your tank isn't high at all... I've never experienced zoanthids "melting away" from it... You could get a Red or Green Mithrax Crab if you're brave... I have a few and they don't bother my zoanthids... But some people have had that problem... Or you can constantly pluck and do water changes... Keep your nutrients at a minimum and it shouldn't spead as fast...

i have seen bubble algae and red slime algae... if possible get a turkey baster or powerhead and blast if off your rock.. make sure to put micron filter your drains to catch it...

I have some red bubble algae in one of my sumps. Here is a picture of it.

I dont know if its the same or not? If you pop yours are they full of slime?

Anyway, i took the peice out that had the alge and razor'd it off in a pail of tank water and then rinsed it in a fresh pail before going back into the tank.

After looking at it, im not so sure its the same stuff the clam had growing on him or not. I know for sure its not red slime, its bubbles!

Thats the alge i have the more i look at it, it just seems the light is catching the bubbles from a different angle than i am used to looking at it.

Anyone have a name for this stuff?
Looks pretty hardy! should i just nuke the tank now to prevent a red bubble takeover?
