Red Bugs on one frag but not the rest?

I've got a Blue Yongei frag that's been in the tank for a few months. I tanked it before I started interceptor/FWE dips for new corals. At first it had great polyp extension and grew like mad. Then growth slowed, color faded, and polyp extension became nil. I had changed lights 3 times since so I figured it was that. Over the weekend I moved the piece down and to the front of the tank, thinking it may need less light. Well I noticed little tan particles on the frag. I removed the frag from the tank and my wife swears she saw them moving. So I am 70% sure it had red bugs, which I treated it for. Now for the life o me I cannot find a single RB on any other coral, including 3-4 I took out of the tank and went over with a magnifying glass. The other corals are doing well no RTN or loss of color, but polyp extension is on the low side(it usually is in my tanks). I have the interceptor bomb ready to go but I hesitate to use it because I have 3 shrimp I'll never get out, and I nice pod/brine shrimp population in my tank. I would hate to nuke them if I did not have to as I believe those little critters are an important part of my little ecosystem. My questions are:

Is there anything else I could easily mistake for RB's? They were so small I could not even get a nice pic.

If they are RB's what are the odds nothing else has them?

Thanks for your help!

If they look like this

then you've got red bugs. If you treated only once, that may be your problem. The accepted treatment procedure is to treat them three times once a week. The first kills most of the bugs, the second the recently hatched eggs and the third is for good measure. Some have said anything over one is overkill, but I can't agree with that. If you are going to treat them, you might as well know you got them all and do the full course. You'll lose the shrimp, but don't worry too much about your pods. My fear was that I would kill my mandarin by killing the food source, but she found something else to eat and the pods returned within two weeks.

I never treated the tank, just the frags that was infected. They were the same size as the bugs in your pics only with no red on them, I am starting to wonder if they were something else. These guys were pure tan

People need to stop responding when they dont knwo about things.

Red bugs DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT lay eggs. They are livebearing animals, and interceptor will kill them at every stage of their life. If you do the dosing correcty, you will kill all of them. If you still have them, you either 1) underdosed, or 2) reintroduced them. Remember, to keep them out, you have to dip everything that comes in, (not just acros)

The accepted procedure hasnt been to treat 3 times, for about 2 years.

Wow. A gentleman and a diplomat...

We must read different forums:rolleyes:. Sorry to be so stupid... Thanks for correcting me.

I treated in December and that was certainly the accepted procedure (according to all the threads I read and to the people with whom I spoke about it). I guess 6 months and two years aren't too different, though, huh.
