After taking a really close up pics of one of my acro colonies I noticed these little red dots . I assume they are red bugs very very small can't see them with the naked eye .

Who has what I need to kill them off ?

MS has flatworm exit. It's about $30 a box. It will work but make sure you have lots of carbon to put on the tank to extract the flatworm toxins.

Interceptor is the cure for red bugs, but you will have to get a veterinarian to sell it to you as it is a controlled substance.

I only have it in chewable form for my dogs and I do not know if that can be used. If so you can have a pill

Edit..How did you get them?

Not sure either hoping someone that has dosed this before will chime in and let me know .

If it is thanks

Edit..How did you get them? Not sure I haven't added any acros . I have added a couple new montis though and a couple sponges .

This may be stupid but why is interceptor a controlled substance?

Whats in it that gets you high? I am assuming thats why its controlled.

I am pretty sure the tablet form works but has to be broken up. I think Chelsey knows a lot more about this concept.

Because if you give interceptor to a dog that has heart worms it can kill the dog. Thus the dog needs to be seen by the vet first. At least thats what I've read on other RC threads about Interceptor.

You can crush the tablet up, mix it in some R/O water and there you go. Dosing info can be found in some threads around, or talk to Chad Farmer or Fade.

John if you want to come to Ballwin, I have a couple of tablets I can spare. I cannot remember at the moment if mine are chewable or not now, but I think they are tablet.

In any event just let me know..

I would not use the ones that I have they smell like liver and might muck up the tank. I also forgot to give it to them on the 15th so your post jogged my memory--thanks!. good luck with it

Leopard Wrasse or Dragonface Pipefish Natural Red Bug Predators. As long as your corals are not losing color and polyps are still extending, then I would not rush to treat your tank, unless you can remove all your acros and treat them seperatly, but if you are like me you have acros that have encrusted and not as easy to remove. I don't like the idea of losing all my snails and crabs unless I absolutly have to.

I can move most of the snails. Everything else can be replaced . I do not want red bugs in my tank . As long as the corals won't be harmed I'm good with treating .

Dose is 25mg per 10 gallons. So for your 135 you would need 1/3rd of tablet. So guesstiamte it and cut into thirds as close as you can.

John I just got online after work. You can call me tomorrow. I am a bit busy tomorrow after work, but if you can wait until wednesday, I can let you have two.

Mine are the chewables though, but I cannot find anywhere it says they are bad. It is after all just binders and flavoring.

Maybe someone else can weigh in on that.

i used a whole pill in my 58

i measured and dosed the 3 times and still had them so I got mad and threw in a whole pill and they were gone after that.

I didnt even do a water change for over a week
