red bugs

OK, so I am looking to get some corals from Reewik, but I need to know how to get rid of the red bugs. I am bug free and would like to stay that way. is there a way I can quickly treat the corals before they go into my tank, or a safe way I can treat the tank after they are in there. I dont want ot put the rest of my tank in jeopardy in doing so. I do have snails and a reef lobster in the tank too...

This is copied and pasted from advice I gave another reefer that's getting one of Eric's corals:

If I were you I would setup a bucket with a small powerhead and a small heater(or keep it in a room that's 75 degrees or higher, just don't let the bucket get below the low 70's). Then I would mix about 5 times the regular dose Interceptor and let it sit in the bucket with about 3 gallons for 24 hours. About the last hour of treatment I would add double strenth FWE or during the last 10 minutes add Seachem reef dip at double strength. Shake the colony real well in the bucket to dislodge any clingers on before you place it in the tank. This will most likely get rid of anything you don't want but it's not totally 100%.
hth, Chris

It's my understanding that the bugs feed on acropora flesh exclusively, correct? Don't bother anything else? No acropora, and they die?

That is the understanding as of now...yes.

Good advice fishdoc. I think I will scratch the milli I was planning on getting ang just go with the hydnopora as it is not a form of acropora.
