Red bump/spot on clownfish

This clownfish has a bump/spot on its side. It is still eating and swimming around normally. Any idea what this is and how to treat it?
Thanks Lou.

Best guess is an injury wound at this point. Whether or not it gets infected remains to be seen. Uronema, mainly seen in Chromis, is another possibility. But more spots should show up if it's Uronema.

If this were my fish, I would soak his food in vitamin supplements (Selcon, Zoecon, Vita-chem) and step up WCs. The former will give his immune system a boost; the latter will help maintain clean water conditions, reducing the possibility of infection.

Thank you for the reply. I put the pair in a 10g QT tank and dosed their food with Selcon. I also got a bottle of Kent Garlic as well. Looking more closely at it today it looks more like a wound of some sort. There are no other spots/wounds. I have a sponge filter in the QT tank as well. Is that ok to leave in there?

Yes, that's fine. Was the sponge filter "seeded" from the DT or is it brand new? Monitor your ammonia carefully in the 10 gal QT. Maybe pick up one of these to assist with that. They sell 'em at Petco/smart.

Yes it was a seeded a sponge I had in my sump. I was getting it ready for a batch of babies, but I will buy another one. Thanks again for the help.

My Tang has had something similar before. In his case, I think he ran into a Vermetid Snail shell and got a scratch. It healed up in a few days with no interaction on my part.
