I hAve made a mistake buying on impulse today. I had picked up a nice size to put in an SPS dominated tank. I know this coral needs a shaded area and realized when I got home that there isn't a shaded spot in my tank!

What is the survival rate of this thing? Should I get rid of it? It's a really nice piece.

Ime they really don't care about light. When I first got mine it stayed out in the open and opened up almost every night. I've had it for over a year now I've now moved it under an over hang where it receives no direct sunlight. I feed it maybe once a week sometimes less. Just make sure you have some flow on it so detritus doesn't build up on it.

I've had mine for about 8 months now and it is doing well so far. Until about the last month, it looked like a pool of goo. I've now hung it upside down between some rocks and it is nearly always fully extended. I feed Phyto and Oysterfeast every three or four days.
