Red Chilli

Just got a Red Chilli today.
I know it likes the dark so i put it in a cave. I also hear it likes a LOT of flow so i was wondering if i should get a Nano Koralia and point it into the cave from the back.
It isn't able to get any current from where it is so i'm not sure what to do.

Also, will it move itself on it's own to a position it likes? It is attached to a small piece of rock and is just shriveled up in the cave.

How often and what should i feed it? I know it feeds at night so i guess i have to wait till the lights go off to feed?

How long does it take to acclimate before it should open?

A lot of questions, i know, but you only learn by asking, right?:)

You don't want any dead spots in your tank so I would add sufficient flow throughout rather than trying to direct flow for a specific coral. There should be sufficient flow going through the cave (and everywhere else).

They will not move on their own, they're affixed to the rock they're on so proper placement is important.

I would feed it often initially (every day) but over time once healthy and acclimated they can go on just two to three feedings a week (even less sometimes depending how you feed the display). Offer them small particulate foods like Cylopeeze, baby brine, Reef Nutrition and FM products.

The condition of your exact specimen and your tank will determine when it begins to open, but it should settle in within a week or so.

Just got one a week or so ago. By the looks of things I may have hit the right placement which is under a large overhang with medium flow. I'm really hoping this makes it.

Thanks, the red goes well with the lovely shade of bubble algae green! I got the coral from Blue Zoo.

are these hard to feed? do they need tiny bits of food floating around all the time or would it be possible to spot feed mysis and bloodworms like a sun coral?

I like the looks of this coral. Are those polyps just a miniature version of a sun coral? cant really tell from the pic
