Red cotton algae only in refugium

I upgraded my refugium some months ago to a bigger one. Before doing the upgrade I had this type of algae growing in and now it has appeared again and growing like mad covering my caulerpa and chaeto algae. I noticed that it grows more in the first top quarter of the tank not below. Hopefully since now has never grew in the main tank.

Why does it grow and what should I do to eliminate it?

But, it sounds like the same stuff that I have in my fuge, I manually pull it out, and I put a mexican turbo snail in there to help control it.

It grows because there are nutrients and light.
