Red Cyno chemical treatment

Chemi-clean works. Use 1/2 recommended dose.

Multiple H20 changes and chem tweaking still best option IMO, but Chemic-clean does work if you don't want to go the natural route.

what is reef safe to get rid of Red Cyno all over my substrate

increase your flow, remove your phosphates and siphon it out. otherwise it will eventually come back.

When it has been necessary I have always had good luck with the FW version of Maracyn at 1/2 the recommended dosage.

Boyd's chemi-clean will do the job but I think JJJimmy's suggestion about the Maracin is the better way to go.
And of course the real question is, do you know why you're getting the cyno?

You'll really need to figure out what's causing it or it won't be long before it's back.
If you could give us a little info about your system, it would help to try and solve the issues that have generated the cyno.

well its a 29 gallon tank been going for 4 5 months now but ebverything in it came from my 90 gallon
water rock substrate etc everything

theres a 10 gallon fuge 3 36 watt lights on for 8 hours
all levels are fine

didnt change anything just showed up right in the middle of the substrate one day

mostly biological

theres a 10 gallon sump with LS LR and Cheato in it and a skimmer with 2 returns flowing backing the thank

its a 29g Oceanic Biocube

I'd use the Maracyn to kill it off, then test your water for nitrates and phosphates. You can address them if they are an issue.
How old are the bulbs on the fuge?

are you using RO water,if so check to make sure your membrane is ok, if its beat it can quickly cause your makeup water/waterchanges to be phosphate loaded.

yea its ok ppm is like at 6 its a whole new set up as well

i dont have any cyno in my other FOWLR tank thats clean as a whistle
