red fiddler crabs

I dont believe they are reef safe. And they like to be able to leave the water and get air every now and then.

Fiddlers are brackish I believe. Used to keep em in my fw set up, they had plenty of places to get out of water, but none lasted more than 6 months. Ive seen people feed em to salt water species, but never seen one in a saltwater tank.

If your in Richmond just take a trip over to the coast at low tide and scoop you some up. You could easily get hundreds in a few minutes. Me and my dad fill a five gallon bucket in literally 5-6 minutes. We do this every week during the summer for fishin for reds. Wouldnt put em in your reef tank tho... =/

I did research on some 10 years ago. They tolerate fresh, brackish and salt water. They don't really live around a reef, but live mostly on land on mud or sand. Actually they almost never even went completely submerged in the water. If you want to keep them, make the tank 75%plus land area where they can dig holes, and a small fresh/brackish water area
