just purchased a red fire cleaner shrimp-put it in -he was out and saw him for about 15-20 mins -cleaned a damsel fish then dissapeared and havent seen him since-24hrs-i thought these guys stay out and clean?or is it normal and just getting used to its surroundings-let me know

I was thinking of getting a shrimp its between a fire and skunk cleaner. While doing some research, I read that fires are not as active as skunk cleaners. Not sure though...

don't have any fire shrimp, but the 2 skunks I have are terriffic. I can't get over how visable, active, and friendly they are. and they look really sweet under actinic light.

I have a red fire shrimp. He hide under a rock all day unless there is something to be eaten. He's pretty skittish about coming out and grabbing food or anything. I would go for the skunk cleaners. They seem much more active.

I've had some in the past. They were nocturnal, not very visible in the daytime unless you fed them. Sadly, they got killed, probably by my neon wrasse. However, he allows my cleaner shrimp to live for some reason.

Yeah, as beautiful as they are, I believe they are more reclusive than the skunk cleaner shrimp.

Many people on here have mentioned that the skunk cleaners will actually come up and clean your hand in the tank!

I've never heard of that with the fire shrimp.
