Red Frilly Mushrooms

Several years ago I saw a rock filled with bright red frilly mushrooms that I initialy thought were actualy Acans. They looked fantastic but were already sold and on hold. Since then I had not seen anything comparable. I did pick up some simular green mushrooms from that individaul however I'm still looking for those reds. Does anyne have any idea what type thy might have been and any possible sources for them?

Have you tried searching through google images to see if anything pops up? I think I've seen some on Coral Morphologic from time to time...

I'm not sure what they are exactly, but they kinda sound like some species of Rhodactis? The "fuzzy" aspect of your mystery mushroom sounds an awful lot like a Rohdactis. Please tell me if the picture looks like your polyp (that is... if the picture shows up)

hopefully this image will appear. I originaly thought they were Acans but the owner asured me they were mushroom corals.

Agreed, certainly not a mushroom.

If the seller is saying they are mushrooms, I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw my reef tank!
