Red Haddoni problem

Well my ongoing saga of my nems trying to find a comfortable spot continues because of the limited space they are in so they keep moving around. I'm concerned about my red haddoni though. Every other day as other move around him and what have you, he totally shrinks and disappears into the sand like this:

This has been going on for a few months, he mostly does it at night just before lights go out but yesterday when i got home in the early evening he was like this and he was still like this this morning. He still eats normally and looks fine when he is fully inflated. Is he just threatened by the others that keep covering him up? I have read that they do this when they feel threatened as a defensive measure.

Maybe the light is too intense? Try leaving your primary lights off for a day or two. Just a quick suggestion.

I don't know if its the lights, but if it was, wouldn't the other ones also try to seek shade? This red carpet just keeps throwing himself under one of the other nems even though space is made for it.

Should i just leave it alone?

there are 2 other bigger haddonis and 1 Gig that was recently introduced a month ago but this has been happening way before the Gig came into the picture. So mostly all same species.

Well he continues to shrink and hide himself completely. I tried yesterday to move him but couldn't because he's just to close to the purple one, almost like his foot is stuck on the purple haddoni. Just don't know what else to do at this point besides hope for the best. Seems like when we dont want them to move they do and vice versa.

I would place a large tile in between the two. Make sure it won't fall over on one of them. You may want to lean the tile to the side of the larger anemone.

Shockingly the little red guy decided to make a giant leap and just get out of where he was, i was worried when i first got home because i could not find him but then i saw him up top. He was still in his original spot in the morning though so he did not do this overnight.

Now i'm wondering where he will try to go to next. Hopefully not back there.

If it is possible, aim your powerhead at the spot where you do not want him to go. Haddonis do not like much flow. Also my haddonies lay over themselves all the time, almost like they are taking turns to be on top. If they are not really happy, they will move.

good luck

Hm after reading your thread, I am was wondering why my haddoni has been shriveling lately too. I still think its chem warfare as mine never done this until I added 3 gigs (which apparently are sick sigh)

I can't aim the mp40's, they dont swivel like the other brands, but that would be a good idea if i could! Can't really move it either as its set in one place. For now this red haddoni is staying on this rock, had not shriveled up since getting there...until...last night when he did coincidentally at the same time my green one decided to take a walk also.

Mine was doing this before i introduced my gig so i dont think its chemical warfare in my case...but the fact that yours are sick might have something to do with it...i would look into treating them all..
