Red Kelp?

LFS said this may be kelp by verbal discription but just want to find out what it may be. I have no idea where it came, it has grown alot in the last few months any ideas?

Looks like a Halymenia sp.

you appear to be right from what I can find online as far as Pictures is this a bad thing cannot seem to find any information on it really

It's a good thing...slow-growing (at least compared to Caulerpa), not invasive, and IMO very pretty.

well from what little there is out there on it. it will grow only slightly more as its already at 8-10" . i almost pulled it and a smaller portion that i could nt take a picture of out my tank when i had a little cyn. outbreak. Seems like it like s phosphates so it will remain in it s current location for as long as it likes
