red knobed starfish

He ate my little anemone, do they normally do that, I have a chocolate chip also, will they

Neither the beautiful red knobby starfish for the chocolate chip star are considered reef safe.
You will have to choose between your corals and your starfish.
Serpent starfish come in many colors and the Harlequin serpents stay under about 6 inches.
All of the Serpent's are reef safe except for the giant green ones which will eventually grow to 2 feet and kill Zoe's and fish.

Hi I am fairly new to saltwater fish tanks and recently got what I believe to be a red knob starfish I put him in my think yesterday after flirting him for about an hour and today it seems like he is at the top of the tank and a few of his legs are curled a little with one curled out at the top of the water just curious as to why he is doing this the rest of my fish seem to be doing great my Salt gravity test was at 1.028 so I added some freshwater and is down to 1.026 I will add a little more tomorrow but would like to hear what some of you think as this is my first saltwater fish tank

My chocolates do that at the surface too . When they are at the surface ,I put a piece of fish or shrimp on their outstretched arm. They will eat it. I always wanted a red knob but I have too many seperate rogues gallery of tanks . I had to seperate my roseline snails from the good snails. I had to seperate the chocolate starfish from my pencil and red urchins which are in a fowlr seperate from the coral tank and I have a beautiful green brittle starfish that can not be housed with any small goby . Don't get my wrong , I love them all .

Definitely pay closer attention to your water params, its pretty much required in this hobby if you want to have any sort of success that doesn't end in massive costs and loss of life.

That said, starfish do that a lot for some reason. I'm not sure anyone knows exactly why but its normal.
