Red Mithrax crab eating Acan?

It's tough to tell from the photo, but I have a large red mithrax crab in my tank. I believed they were reef safe, but this morning it looked like he was picking on a new acan I just added. One of the heads itself looked damaged too. Maybe he was just at the wrong place at the wrong time and something else damaged it, but curious if anyone else had a red or green mithrax go rogue?

Yep, mithrax are omnivores so they can and will pick at corals. Keep the crab well fed to help deter it from snacking on your corals. You can buy sinking invert pellets to feed it.

X2 I usually place a algae wafer near his hideout spot. He will usually come out and pick at it after a few minutes.
