RED Planet Acro is dieing!

This morning I noticed my Red Planet table Acro was fading & that also my grape cap was growing very close to it, possibly touching the edge of the encrusting part.

I deciding to break away the encroaching cap & then blow off the debris with a turkey baster. When I blew off the debris in & around the Acro the color just blew off the coral leaving me with a white skeleton. So.....my question is could the cap has caused this or something else? It's the first SPS I have lost in a year.

Thanks,

only if the cap was actually touching it and still, it most likely would have only killed the part it was touching.

Sounds like an ALK,or MG issue to me.

I agree. Most likely alkalinity. Generally for these kinds of questions, it would be desirable to provide ALK, Ca, Mg measurements. Thanks.
