Red Sea Magnesium Test Kit

Anyone have opinions on Red Sea Magnesium Test Lab Test Kit? I bought one last year and just started really testing with it lately. I got a reading of 1100ppm and despite slowly dosing over 1/2 gallon of Magnesium (BRS Magnesium chloride and Epsom salt for Magnesium sulfate) the value has not changed. Reef calculator states I would need 3/4+ gallons to go from 1100 to 1350.

Should I get someone else to test my water?

I've used it... compared it to Salifert and it seemed pretty accurate.

Are you mixing everything thoroughly? If I remember, the directions say to shake it up after every drop of Part A for 15 seconds. Big time PITA, but I've gotten bad readings from it by trying to "cut corners".

I haven't followed the directions letter by letter, but I have dripped Part A one drop at a time and shaken between. I will try again following the directions exactly and see what happens.
