Hey everyone, I saw that some of you keep mandarins in your tanks but where do you grow the pods? Do you have an in tank refugium? Any advice would be appreciated.

Geesh - I can't even keep up with this hyperactive flurry of posts! It'll take NACL H2O Fish (Kent) a day to catch up! Serves him right for ignoring us in favor of that Quaker Parrot Forum!

I'm still wondering if ever got his water change done!!!

I have an anemone that got a REAL bright idea, and positioned itself on the intake grate on my RSM. Its all tangled up in the filter comb, and looks pretty hopeless, anybody ever had this problem? I was thinking it might just come out by itself, thats about all it can do, I can't help it unless I get a razor blade and cut it all up, lol.

xdfireguy - I missed your post in the flurry! No - I got the latest version of the media rack from StevieT.

RhinoCY84 - You're not the first to have an anemone hung up in the RSM grate. I wish I could remember who's had that happen, but I can't. I do know that the anemone(s) survived - I can't remember if it ened up going all the way through the gate before coming back together, or if it pulled itself back together on the display tank side. I'm guessing you shut off the pumps - if not I'd do that and wait & see.

Donna - I do believe Kent emailed me that he finally pulled himself away from the parrot activities long enough to get a water change done!

xdfireguy that 9002 won't last long! Those and the Remoras are usually sold very quickly.

Yup took just about 2 hours and it was gone. I hope it's going to an RSM'er

Hello all. Figured i would add to the insanely huge RSM thread by purchasing a RSM MAX 34g last night! LOL :D

Estimating processing and shipping time, it should be here no later than the 3rd of July. Just in time for a 3 day weekend of reef set-up fun!

I currently have a 14g Biocube that is a very nice set up; however, once I finally saw the 34g in person, i have to say i was overwhelmed at how sweet it looks and functions. Only took 3 days to convince the wife to get it (a new personal best).

I've already read through some of the threads in this monster post, and have to say thank you to all of you. Very good info and mod suggestions here. I'm going to run my new RSM stock for about a month or 2 until it is ready for the inhabitants of the 14g to be transferred, then it looks like the Tunze skimmer and some other of the minor mods I've read about here. (steveT, i'll be looking for the media rack and skimmer cup in a few months too. ;) )

Again, awesome thread and glad to be a part of it. I am now a member of hte Bio Cube and RSM thread families. i feel so special!! LOL

dxtr - i bought my RSM and set it up with exisiting rock and water from another tank so it was off and running right away
my dad came by a week into it and his jaw hit the floor.
that looks like a "Real Tank" he said.
the point is the RSM is a good looking tank. my wife "let me" put it in the corner of the kitchen in view of the den.

i always thought it looked sweet, especailly compared to some of the other "squatty" cubes out there

snake - that's exactly what the wife and I thought when we saw one running at a LFS.

I used to have a 5' long 110g in florida however; unfortunately, none of the walls in the new house in Colorado are big enough to have a 5' or larger tank, big screen TV, couches, in the living areas. Not to mention that whole weight on the floor issue now. Last thing one needs is to wake up in the morning with 1500 pounds and $5000+ of your Reef now located in the basement...

this RSM will be perfect on the wall where the 14g currently is and honestly the wall is dwarfing the 14g. The RSM will be taller with better viewing also.

I know we all hate to post pictures; however, can some of you post some recent pics of your RSM's? It was a wee bit difficult to search for pictures through the 170,000 posts for the thread. LOL

Thanks all!

to our RSM Club! Yep - it's a monster thread alright - I lost count on how many 40 page splits its had - 13, 14, 15? Good luck with the new RSM! At your request for a roll call of tank pictures, I think I posted this not long ago, but here it is again:

It's a constantly changing tank since I started it a year ago April.

Snake looks great, and the album worked too!

DXTR - this forum is one of the best resources for info I found before and after my RSM purchase.

but i always wish there were more pix.
so here we go....a wider view of my RSM

Sweet Tanks! I cannot wait, just got confirmation that my order was shipped today. Less than 24 hours after placing the order. I am impressed.

snake - are those pics with the stock lights or did you upgrage to a Mh fixture as Reefmack did?

dxtr: : Welcome :wavehand: You have done your homework and know the RSM is a great set up, and also, that there are mods to be made if you aren't satisfied with some of it's faults . Can't wait to hear your RSM has arrived!
This is my tank, 8 mths old.

Thanks Donna. Yours is one tank I've seen alot of throughout the RSM thread here. It looks beautiful!

So yours is stock lighting then?
I'm not looking for SPS in my RSM, but so want Torch, frogs, hammers, etc, along with softies, zoas, shrooms, and ricordia, and would prefer to keep the stock hood/lights; however, I've never used T5 lighting. Only VHO, Compact, and Mh.

Thanks!
