Dear fellow hobbyist,

I currently have 2 fresh water tanks and i want to take the next step to salt water. So i have started to look what i like and what kind of fish and corals i want.
I discovered that i really love acropora corals and that these are sps corals that should be placed at the top of the tank with good lightning. I also really love zoas'. If i am correct, these need lesser light and can be placed at the bottom of the tank. However these seem to be venomous and you should be carefull with moving them arround or fragging them.

The fish i love are clown fish, maybe a mandarin gobby and some small other fish that i don't know the name of but the front half of it's body is purple, than a sort of red/orange band and the back half of the fish is yellow.

I found out about the Red see reefer 250 deluxe. It's a 90x50x53cm tank containing 250L of water including the sump and it is comming with 2 AI Hydra 26 hd led lights. If i am correct it also comes with a protean scimmer.
the link below shows the tank i am talking about.

Now i would really like to know if this tank is good enough for what i like to keep. I am doubtfull about the lights.

I hope someone wants to help me out :)

Kind regards,
Christian

SPS corals need lots of light, lower nutrients, and VERY stable parameters in terms of alk, Ca, Mg, s.g., and temp. Zoas, in general, need less light. If you can keep acros, you can keep zoas, no problem. Zoas aren't venomous, but they, and especially palythoas, are toxic to some extent. Just wear gloves and be careful when handling.

The fish i love are clown fish, maybe a mandarin gobby and some small other fish that i don't know the name of but the front half of it's body is purple, than a sort of red/orange band and the back half of the fish is yellow.

royal gramma perhaps?

Should be able to keep a pair of clowns, a royal gramma or two, and a mandarin (provided you use a sump/fuge) no problem.

I'm not an LED guy, but it looks like those lights should be plenty bright enough to keep SPS. They aughta be, at that price.

I hope someone wants to help me out

^^ yes to the above..
That tank can easily do what you want..

and a mandarin requires a well established tank as they eat pods,etc.. as their primary food source.. and they can eat a lot (thousands daily).. So you will have to wait 8 months or so before even thinking about that and you may as stated need to grow pods or purchase them on a routine basis to restock the tank,etc.. to keep that mandy fat/happy..
