Red Sea Salt Analysis?

It seems my batch ALK is low 2.77 meg/l which I think is around 7.8 dkh

Isn't that low for ALK?

They say to mix salt to 35.5 ppt is that correct?

35.5 ppt is about right. I'd target 35 ppt or SG 1.0264 @ 25 C. That dKH seems about what to expect from that mix. That level should be fine for a reef tank.

7.8 dkh is exactly what it says it should mix up to.


Element Levels @ 35.5 PPT

pH: 8.2 - 8.4
Alkalinity: 7.8 - 8.2 DKH
Calcium: 420 - 440 mg/l
Magnesium: 1250 - 1310 mg/l
Potassium: 380 - 400 mg/l


Why do you think 7.8dkh is low? In comparison to what?
7-11dkh is a commonly recommended "range"..
