Red serpent star

Sea Turtles Love Me......
Are red (bright red) serpent stars reef and fish safe? I think i am gonna get one but I had a banded (brown and darker brown with star in the center) serpent that was going after fish that I took back a while ago so i am a lil concerned that they may act like the green ones. Also will it be ok with the normal brittle that i already have in there?

Depends on the animal. If fed properly the banded shouldn't have gone after fish, unless it just had a mean streak which some animals do. I have a banded, same as you described, which is great with all my fish and shrimp, but he gets fed his own supply of silversides every three days or so. It's kind of hit or miss with them.

i have a red serpent star for about a month now and feed him krill about twice a week. Get's moving once he smells the food and bascially attacks the feeding stick . Hide's all day and is more activity at night but not front and center more in and out of rockwork. Interesting animal.

It's the green brittle stars that are usually the problem. I've had a green and yellow striped serpent one for a over a year with now issues. I do target feed him when i feed the nems.

I just remember my banded tearing a** around the tank at lights out and was going after my goby under the rock work and I had to wait a while to lure him out to take him back I just dont want to do that again! there is not alot of helpful info out there on em!
