Red slime algae putting off clear bubbles?

After changing my lighting a little, the red slime algae I used to have now seems to be putting off clear bubbles. The algae growth seems to have slowed, but now there are constantly bubbles floating to the surface. What are these clear bubbles, and how can I make them go away?

Sounds like dinoflangenates (Dinos). Are any of your snails suddenly turning up dead?

It is a difficult algea to beat. I battled it for months. Still not gone, but I am slowly winning.

Stop doing water changes and get your phosphates under control. Testing for PH4 will likely not show anything as the algea is consuming it as fast as it is introduced.

Some good advice was posted here when I got into the battle with it. I will try to find it and post back.

Other things you can do is

1. Lower your light times to 4 hours a day.
2. You can try to darken your tank totally for 4 to 7 days and stave it out.

Good luck
