One of my small tanks:
i hav a small ten gallon reef tank
with about 45 watts of lighting to grow my yellow polyps, finger leather and star polyps

But i hav SOOOOOOOOOO...... much red slime algea
I just can't seem to get rid of it
every night i wake up ato brake up the red slime algea that has accumulated during the day, then i do it again the next day.

i put a new filter on the tank to increase the water circulation in the tank but that still hasnt helped.

i need help desperatly.
the algea clime up the sides of the glass, and makes the tank look horrible.
it is a fully cycle tank, now for about 5 months,
i hav no problem with any of my other tanks.
help me please.

A friend of mine just purchased this stuff specifically for red slime. It is completely reef safe and got rid of it in 24 hours. I can get you the name.

chem pure works well to remove

How old are your lights? Lights change spectrums over time and can contribute to nuisance algaes.

Could you lower the tank temp a bit and cut back your photoperiod makig it harder to grow while you treat it.

Also I would do daily corrective water changes siphoning out as much bacteria as you can.

If all else fails my recommendation would be to use Red Slime Remover. I've used it in the past when I first set up my aquarium and it got rid of it all in three days.

But this is just a band aid solution. Check your water parameters and make sure you are not overfeeding. Never leave any uneaten food floating around for an extended period of time.
