Red slime question ???

i think i see a small batch of red slime on a piece of tonga branch i got from lfs its starting to spread so how do i need to go about getting this taken care of?

remove it before it spreads.

make sure to do this out side of the tank, as if you just break it into pieces it will grow in different areas.

also curious what does this stuff come from like what does it originate from so i can avoid trying to get anymore

One main cause of Cyano can be from low flow areas where detrius builds up. Take someting like a turkey baster and try to suck it all out. If that not possible as others have said remove the rock/coral remove it and try to vreate more flow in that area.
