Red spot on fish

Hi,

I'm very new at having fish and just noticed one of my fish has a red spot on it's back. Picture link is below. I don't even know what kind of fish it is! Can someone tell me, and let me know if you think the red spot is something to worry about, what it might be, etc?

Looks like some species of chromis. He may have uronema, a deadly parasite that seem to be showing up a lot on chromis lately.

Adding fish without serious research can ruin the hobby for you; its easy to buy the wrong fish at a LFS. I'd also read the stickies on our forum and a couple of good books on the hobby before buying more fish. You will defiantly need a quarantine tank and be willing to use it with all new fish.

He passed away, thanks. Yeah this was a random attempt to save some fish who were about to become homeless. He's the only one who'd died, but I think they all might have been infected. I'm treating the whole tank with Mardel right now and the other 3 seem to be doing ok. Thanks for your help!
