My Red Star is falling apart. this is the second one to do it also. my water temp is between 78 & 80* sg is 1.023 nitrates 20 nitites 0 ammonia 0 ph 8.4 ca is between 450-500. there is no copper present in the system at all. I removed it from display to Qt only to informed that that might make it worse, which it did. I am at a loss for this because I like my lil red star.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!1

Well your salinity is low, which can be problematic for lots of inverts, echinoderms included. It should be 1.025-1.026. However, we need to know more about the stars to figure out what's happening. How long have you had them? How did you originally acclimate them? How much LR do you have?

Yes, moving to the QT probably made it worse, and IMO your specific gravity is critically low. Having said that, if this is a new star, your LFS could have done just as much damage due to lack of acclimation.
