Red Stuff In Sump

What's this red stuff in my sump? It just looks like red algae all over the sand bed and on the cheato. Is it bad, do I need to get rid of it or is it OK? It just started getting bad in the last 1-2 months. There's none of this in the display tank. The tank is about 8 months old and all the params are OK.

Should I be worried?

looks like cyano. what is the flow like in your sump?
It's usually a result of poor flow and or nitrates. What test kit are you using to test with.

I'd try sraping, scrubbing it off then siphoning out as much as you can. And do a few large water changesBe persistant as it will most likely take a while to get rid of. Not neccessarily harmful unless it starts growing on corals and live rock. More of a nuisance than anything.

I'm using a seachem test kit for my nitrates. And I do probably have pretty poor water flow in the sump, would adding a small power head in the sump help?
