Red Sun Coral

I've found a red sun coral at a LFS, it's about 2" diameter circular colony, marked for $65. This is the first time I've seen a legitimately red sun coral for sale, let alone in person; I understand they're fairly common in the Japanese livestock industry... Now the kicker, they have let detritus settle all over it, which has caused the tissue to recede so only the polyps themselves are covered. I've nursed colonies back before, so I know it's possible (although a major PITA). I talked to the owner and he says he'd let it go for $50. My question is this, if you've ever seen them available around you, how much do they sell for?

In Canada $50 is a quite good price for any sun coral, except plain orange.

Here, at RC, I saw a very few cases of red sun corals. It would interesting to read about your experience with it and compare to the more common sun coral, dendros and other Dendrophyllidae.

Well in crushingly disappointing fashion the polyps proved to not be red matching the tissue like the LFS claimed, neat looking piece with the red/orange contrast, but I was really hoping for true red. I passed on it :(
