My LFS has a beautiful red yuma for $45.00. It has a green mouth and is a rusty kindof orangish red. Is it worth the $45 or is that too much?

I don't have a picture of it. I'll be going tomorrow to get some water so I'll take a pic then. It's solid rusty orangish-red with a neon green mouth.

Depends on if the mouth is gaping and it's a bit shriveled up or if it's fully open and puffed out...

How big is the frag? How many polyps? I got a frag with like 8 polyps on it for 40 bucks. Green ones though so obviously they would be cheaper.

I have this one similar to what your describing, I paid $10 for it

Yumas are one of those corals that the price can go from $10 to $100.

The price is usually driven by the colors, especially the number of colors. The number of colors would be in the main part of the Yuma, not the base color or mouth. Reds true red like a fire engine not a red like brown) seem to drive the higher demand. When you get a red one with multiple colors and a white stripe those can pull some really good money. Single color ones like the common orange or green ones don't pull much money.

I'm pretty sure I know which one you were referring to though, they have been pretty common in the past month. It was an orange/copper color with a dark purple base color. The mouth may have been green if stressed. $45 isn't a bad price for one if it was a full adult size. $35 and I'd be happy. $45 for 2 to 3 would be a good deal.

Thanks octoberfest. The mouth isn't green anymore so it must have been stressed. I'm probably not going to get it, but they still have it there. It's in nice shape now so it must have aclimated.
