Redoing plumbing in tank?

I recently purchased a 120 reef ready from a person and it's going well so far. I am now realizing more and more that his plumbing is causing more trouble than it's worth, with the main problem being that there is a back siphon across all three reactors. I wanted to just redo all of the plumbing but I do have livestock in the already. Is there any way to do this without draining all of the water?

Does the tank have an overflow box? If it does all you need to do is stop your return pump and let the over flow box empty. Then nothing will be going through your return lines and nothing through your drain lines. Personally I would do a few changes get it back running and then hours or days later make more changes so the system is not offline for so long.

Are you talking about the reactor plubming, or the overflow plumbing.

Reef ready tanks are easy to replumb, you'll just need to drain the overflows and use powerheads while you wait for the glue to cure in your new pipes. Wait a full cure time don't just glue and add water. Best to run some carbon when you are done.

How do you plan on running the new plumbing. Look into the two herbie method.

I was planning on assembling it outside of the tank and then installing it once it was all cured.
