Red's Food?

Well, I just bought some of the "Rod's" food yesterday from Coral Reef, can someone tell me how much of it should i put in my tank with lots of shrooms, some Digitata, RBTA, Hammer and Frogspawn along with couple Kenya Trees and a pair of Nemo.

Should I feed every day and if so couple of times a day ??

I would turn off your filtration/pumps & spot feed your anemone & LPS. Start with a 1" square & see how far it goes. Use a turkey baster for spot feeding. I feed my corals about every 4-5 days & suppliment the fish by feeding pellets on the other days.

I use about about 2"/day(1" 2x's daily) and have recently been supplementing with live baby brine shrimp daily.

As far as fish are concerned I have a light bio load but I have a lot of corals, mostly sps.

2 tangs(purple and powder brown)
2 percula's
six line wrasse
cherub angel
Manderin goby
yellow watchman goby

I only spot feed my sun coral and only do that a few times a week.

I admit I'm a chronic over feeder but my fish and corals are happy :)

Easy there poppy- I can read and I do know what the ingredients are. Maybe you should just relax a little bit and let people give their own opinion instead of posting smart *** remarks? Have you seen the way red food is prepared.... maybe YOU should get both sides of the story before you just start typing on a computer screen. Im not sure what I said that was so bad but my opinions were in no way disrespectful so im not sure why your comment was. I was just saying that there are bigger chunks of "stuff" in rods food.
Puffer-im sure some bigger lps can eat those chunks but I think some smaller lps would have a bit of a problem like micros etc..

Don't take this the wrong way people I use both foods I was just saying those are my opinions. ;)

I fail to see where I was disrespectful??? I said to educate yourself. Nothing more. You stated that Red's food was more forcorals, but Rod's was more for fish. I stated that Rod's is a "Complete Reef Food". Nothing more. There are bigger chunks in Rod's food for the fish, crabs, etc etc. The smaller stuff that you can't see is for the corals. I.E. Golden Pearls, Red Plankton, Oyster eggs, rotifiers....

The other problem, and I know Bob (Red's Food) is that he came out with that food shortly after Rod had posted his ingredients on another forum. You would not know that becuase you have not been around that long. So as some are hinting that it is a copy, this is the idea behind it.

you said that i needed to "educate" myself before typing in front of a computer screen. that was the comment i was referring too. I also know all about the story over the food, i've been around long enough to know that. I'm done. :)

Well you seem to know everything. Problem is, you at times provide people with inaccurate information which is why I replied the way I did. If you do not have thick enough skin to take some constructive criticism, then you may want to lurk instead of post.

HIJACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So this is what 1500 pounds of sand looks like:

poppy~ Are you done putting words into my mouth... I think you need to go and reread my first post, or did you miss the part that said IMO, which means IN MY OPINION! constructive criticism and smart *** remarks are totally different. I never said i know it all but apparently you do...... :)

I think you have been playing with wires too much today and have some Dain Bramage from it.

If I had called you and idiot, or stupid or something to that nature, then yes I could see it as discrespectful or a smart comment. However, I chose to inform you in a more constructive manner and suggest you educate yourself. Nothing more implied. I did not call you out to embarass you or anything. Problem with typed words on a screen....you can not sense any type of inflection in those words you read. It honestly was constructive and not meant to harm.

Like you said, its hard to tell from typed words. As someone who just wandered into the thread, it did sound like you were trying to be condescending.

Take it for what its worth, but its an unbiased opinion.

444reefkeeper -- Thats a lot of sand!@!@. Your new tank I assume? Looks like its going to be pretty nice. Got a thread on the build?

I can see that sellout which is why I said what I said in the last post.

jsk...I'll buy you a beer to make up for it. Again, it was meant to be constructive and nothing more.
