redtop's Ferduino controller

Hello,

I am thinking about taking the plunge and building a Ferduino. Are you using the pH function at all? If so, what is the circuit and how do you calibrate?

Also, do you find a big difference in navigating with the 7 inch screen?

Thanks in advance,
Sean

with navigating the 7 inch screen, the big difference is all the buttons are bigger so when you use your finger, you usually touch the correct button :) with the 3.2 inch screen, it's easier to use a stylus......the 7 inch screen is a tiny bit slower to switch from 1 screen to the next, it's still plenty fast enough, the 3.2 screen changes almost instantly

the 3.2 screen is awesome but with my eye site get worse with age, the 7 inch screen is a lot easier for me to read the text on

On datasheet have the step by step to calibrate.

Here have a code to use in the calibration.

I hope make a function to calibrate the probes via TFT.

You can use the software of the Atlas also:

https://www.atlas-scientific.com/product_pages/software/atlas-desktop.html

But you need of a circuit of this:

https://www.atlas-scientific.com/product_pages/embedded/debugger.html

To do this do you run this code through the arduino app, and calibrate while tethered to the computer. Just confused about how you can calibrate the atlas pH meter and then keep that data and transfer it to the Ferduino?

Thanks,
Sean

Hi!

The values of calibration are saved in an EEPROM on PH circuit.

No values of calibration is sent to Ferduino.

Best regards.

After an hour of searching EBay and amazon for a new arduino mega R3 and 7" LCD with TFT. I have found that the price has doubled every where on them. I predict this is because of the new Ferduino witch can use a 7" display I don't know how many Down loads but I bet People are passing it to there friends as each person makes small mod's to it.

2 weeks ago the going price for arduino TFT and 7" Lcd was $50-$70 today it is $110- $130

Willie see what you have done

LOL I went ahead and got an extra screen before the price went through the roof...

I've been tinkering with text color some but but can't find anything wrong with it yet, so far it been running trouble free on my tank

I'm a little disappointed that the screen was supposed to be designed to work with an Arduino but the voltage regulator on the Arduino can not handle the added current draw without getting so hot

at least using the USB port to power it all works great though

Itead had a price reduction on the 5 inch you don't want 7 " because then I will be the only one with 5"

I hope the 5" screen proves to use less amperage and will work better with the Arduino voltage regulator without the heating issue, will you share your experience with your once you have it running ? :D

Looks like where all a bunch of night owls on here I placed a couple bids on screens will see how it goes Marc you should load this up on your 5" screen to see what it look like it loads fast and there is a video on how to install it all I did was add WS where the BS goes after the ITDBO2 and that was it then it loaded right on no problems

Ok dale will give it a try today also my w1500 will be here today but I'll go no frills first go around just rtc then try it with that fancy screw shield next

@marspeed that is some font you got there any way watch the video takes like 5 minutes super easy

Willie can you post the size of the 7" screen Lxw thanks

6.25" x 3.5" that is the actual viewing area, and it is 7 1/16" diagonal :)

when I posted this morning around 3am, that wasn't me being a night owl, that was me just getting up and getting ready for work....it's about a 45 minute drive to work and clock in's at 5 am :D

I'm not a night owl I just don't get more than 3 hours sleep in a row so I'm up at night a lot

Anyway I was thinking of putting this build in a 10x8x4 plastic box then mount it to the inside of the cabinet door
