redtop's Ferduino controller

I have my RTC chips in hand now so I should be able to get it all up and going in the next few days I hope I want to try out joy reef

@redtop get a cheap small switch from any where online like BestBuy or amazon or china or flebay you can get 10/100/1000 4 or 6 port ones cheap these days plug your one cable in to it then you can plug in both controllers or up to how man ports you have open

I have a multi port switch connected now for my Satellite box and Bluray player, just don't have the extra Ethernet cable ran to the tank...it's not a big deal though, with the 7 inch touch screen, I don't really need the web interface, I don't have a smart phone to use it remotely anyway

redtop or marspeed where do I put the jumper on the screw shield to use pins 18 and 19 for the Ferduino code? and is there anything else to set on it just cant think any more to many boards :)

also do I use the micro SD slot on the Ethernet card?? I think I read that some where in the last 500 pages of controllers

Hi!

I'm not Marc or Willie but, let's go.

find:

Code:
DS1307 rtc(20, 21);

Replace with:

Code:
DS1307 rtc(18, 19);

You need of the SD card for dosing pumps and graphs.

Best regards.

Fernando Garcia

yes the SD card reader on the Ethernet shield is the one used with the Ferduino code as it is in the download, but with some modifications, you can use the SD card reader on the screen shield

the jumper you're referring to on Marc's screw shield, Marc will have to answer, I'm clueless :D

Jumpers set for 20 21

OK, thanks, got my screw shield pieces all ordered today except the jumpers and I already have those somewhere around here :D

that board will make my testing and tinkering so much easier, thanks again for some really cool PCBs Marc, you're awesome man

hello all
I like your screw shield/ combination rtc for the mega board could i get the file to have some made or does anyone have an extra one they would part with? thanks James

By the way you can get most parts in 3 days and free shipping from this place thaishine usa parent co.is over seas and has more components and they are inexpensive

It's all because of fernando his controller software inspired me

the Ferduino is one of, if not the best code out there, has everything and more that any reefer would need for their tank

I no longer have a credit card, paid that thing off and chopped it up :)

I have an Amazon account so I get everything there even though it does cost more in most cases but by using Amazon I limit my credit usage to just one place, I go way overboard with plastic money when I have it LOL

Fernando you will always do :)

almost ready to give the screw shield its maiden voyage. got the 5v power supply to hook up to it (redtop) can you show where you have your 5v connection to the USB?

how do I use the SD reader on the back of the lcd looks like it takes a full size card 2G card.

I have the same white tft shield so can use a ribbon cable to extend it of the stack.

is there any thing else I am forgetting?

almost for got to ask in the picture of the shield did you solder the ICSP or is it just sitting upside down :)

not easily, I have it all hooked up on my tank

what I did was use a volt meter and connected the mega to my USB port on my PC and tested the pins for 5v on the USB port of the mega, then just soldered a wire to that pin and connected it to the 5v PSU positive and just grounded to the ground pin on the mega from the 5v PSU...really simple :D

using the SD reader on the screen shield requires some rewiring and a change in the code, I don't remember exactly what you gotta do but it's posted on the Ferduino site

what it is upside down ? soldered it

The ICSP in that pic the end showing on top of the board should be on the bottom to connect to the arduino then proto after that or Ethernet or what ever you want (that is how I have mine yours might be different)

That is what I thought you did

maybe I should just stay with 20 & 21 like Marc showed me I just need it for the graph's
my reactor takes care of the trace stuff
