Reduce light for my 250w light ?

How can i Reduce light for my 250w light without raise the pandent ?

Buy a dimmable ballast.

Ok.. I'll bite. Why r u looking to do this? An eggcrate over the top of the aquarium will diffuse some of the light. You could also purchase a lesser MH ballast and light.
The question is a little vague so the answers aren't going to be too specific.

If you are trying to shade new corals... Egg create alone won't shade much -- if at all. However, some window screening (( fiberglass ones )) on top of the egg create will do wonders.

Granted this is only over carpet, but gives a good idea.
