Thanks Tazzy. Made the hole. Water level went up a bit. But the U tube is still little bit above the water level and it still makes noise, less than before though.Start by drilling about a 1/4 inch hole in the top of your u tube at the top

I would make the water line just below center of the horizonal pipe on the U.So I should make the vertical pipe longer? So that the water level in the overflow is flush with the rest of the tank?![]()

The one on the left shows where the water line should be and the one on the right is the backup in the event the main were to get clogged. This should help alot.I would make the water line just below center of the horizonal pipe on the U.

If the noise continues and it sounds as if it is coming from splashing in the sump, make the flex hose longer and put a big U into it. I had to do that with mine. Good luck.Awesome. Thanks.

Let me know.Flowing into the sump is quiet. Its just at the mouth of the tube. Will adjust the pipe and see.

Ideally you dont want the water travelling to far when it enters the overflow. That wouldnt make a gurgling noise.Let me know.

#1 A single drain like that is always going to be a noise issue unless you slow the flow down drastically (which is ok)..
#2 you would be better doing it as a tee like this with a hole in the top..

Then you put a valve on the "output" of your return pump to slow the flow of water through the system until it quiets down enough for you..
Thats about all you can do with a single setup like that...
Yup, mcgyver is right. I have a Durso on my setup, and it looks exactly like that. Using the tee allows you to use an end cap, which you can use different size drill bits on until you get it silent! Start small, try it. Make a little bigger, try it. If you end up too big or doesn't work, you can just get a new cap. Don't glue any of these fittings, "dry" fit is fine for your drain at that point.#1 A single drain like that is always going to be a noise issue unless you slow the flow down drastically (which is ok)..
