Reducing Red Algae

I am having a problem in my 10 gallon with red algae. A friend of mine told me that some nassarius snails should do the trick....any other ideas?

filamentous red algae or slime? Most Turbos, Astreas, and hermits love the Red filamentous stuff. If you are adding iodine, back off on it for a while. Slime is a bit trickier. Siphoning it out then doing a water change and running carbon has helped me in the past.

It is a nano-reef. I have zoos and mushrooms in there at the moment.

Parameters are all at 0, temp. is 79
I have 130 watts over it on 10 hours a day.
I am not adding any supplements as far as iodine.
I use RO water that I mix with instant ocean mix.
It is like long and stringy so i'm not sure which type it is.

Sounds like red slime, increasing flow may help but will take a week or more depending on the amount. I would try this before adding any additives. 25% water change followed by 10% weekly changes untill solved.

I already have an HOB and a powerhead on it, it is only a 10 gallon. And I do a weekly or Bi-weekly 20% water change.
