Reed octopus bh2000

Do you think a reef octopus 2000 would be good in my 75 gallon fowlr tank? Is the 1000 too small? What other skimmers would go great with my 75 fowlr

There are many good reviews for the BH-2000 on a tank your size or even larger. The effectiveness of any skimmer does depend somewhat on bioload so just be sure you don't overdo it. If I were you, I would not get the BH-1000 on a 75G FOWLR, but that's just because I believe in getting a skimmer that is rated for something like 1.5x the tank volume. Because let's face it, most of us do not "under-populate" our tanks, right?

I have a BH-2000 on my sumpless 120 gal. reef. pulls a lot of junk. I think that or a BH-1000 would be enough. I know that we hear that you need x amount of skimming for x amount of gal. but if you think about it, many people run skimmerless tanks. unless you are really over stocked I think either of the Reef Octopus' would be plenty.

Yeah, I got the 2000 and it's too big... just the sheer size of it makes it so my lid barely fits, it's so tight I don't even use that lid anymore. It is an awesome skimmer though. I'd probably recommend the 1000.

Would the 2000 be too much for my tank right now? Idk if I'm going to upgrade so idk if the 2000 is too big and the 1000 would be great and skim a lot of waste or if I should just go big and the 2000 would skim good at the moment and it'll work if I upgrade or get a lot more fish later
