I hve the 16 inch unit over a 30 breeder withh all z/p for 4 months now. Good growth and color. At the moment my highest setting is blues 28% and whites and burgundy 5%. Does anyone care to share their percentage with me and their light cycle? This is a frag tank and yes a like a smurf pee look lol when viewing my zoas. I just want to maximize my growth. Thanks for any help.

Asking for what other people are doing means you really need to take a LOT of other factors into consideration. What you really want is a PAR meter so you'll KNOW what you have and what effect your adjustments make in terms of PAR. They aren't cheap, but if you want to do really well with leds, it can be invaluable, IMHO. I had one 4 years before I got leds to use with my t5 and MH.

No that's not what I'm asking. I would like to know what I asked in my first post I don't care about pare. How much pare does it take for a candy apple red to grow? Or a utter chaos? The answer is WE DON'T KNOW THE EXACT PAR. I would rather go off what other people are doing " proven results" under ideal conditions of course. I know it sounds professional and all to go into the pare discussion. But I'm not interested in that. For every pare quot you go into. I can debunk it with actual proof in a tank I have seen in person. Not hear say but actually seen with my own eye's. Now is there any reef breeders led user's out their that would like to share info? Thanks again

In order for someone to answer that question, they'd have to have experience with the same light over the same tank with the same water depth and the same animals. That's why folk talk about par - it's a more generally applicable means of measuring. Good luck.

You can say the same thing about pare readings. I understand coral need pare to grow. But what you can't tell me what the optimal par is for any one coral. Because all coral are harvested at different depths and diff water perms from all over the world. But what you can tell me is. If uncle Bob has the reef breeders led unit 19 inches above his 30 gallon tank. And uncle Bob has his lights set at a certain %. And his tank perm STANDARD. Well then I am going to try what uncle Bob is doing to try and maximize my growth. I would rather go of trial and error than say yup you have a pare reading of 6 at 10 inches below the water surface. Which means nothing if you don't know what the coral need without over doing it or under doing it. And to do that you would need to know where the coral came from, how deep it was harvested, and what the avg pare was all year. Not going to happen lol. So

No I did not answer my own question. My question from my first post was. Would any one like to share their white/blues % they have their lights on their reefbreeders unit? That they are getting good growth on their z/p. Then we get the pare question, then the perm question. Its simple. If you have a reefbreeders unit. Would you like to discuss the % of your white and blues, the height of your light, the optics? And even which z/p do good under them vs what lights you had prier.

If your gonna have the attitude that you do... I highly doubt anyone will be willing to help you with you need. that being said why dont you try somethings yourself and see what work for you...

lol..PAR not pare :) And every tank is different, even two set ups that are the same with the same equiptment with the same water. what works for one could be too much or not enough for the other. water clearity has a lot to do with it as well
