Hello soft coral keepers
I was wondering if anyone uses any Reef Buffers/Calcium Supplementation /CA reactors/ KAL Drip or any other produtcs like this on a softie tank ?
Thanks

I'm using, but my tanks are mixed reef - something of everything, mostly softies.
When the tests show, that some of parameters tends to be low, then I'm adding supplements, mostly alkalinity - Reef buffer if pH is low, Reef Builder - if high. If water changes were neglected for a some time - calcium additions were necessary.
Don't worry ;)

depend on Calcium & alkalinity LOAD of Tank

????
you have a lot of coralline algae ?
you are grow macro algae on you tank ?

...is consume Ca & Alk from you tank water
but soft coral is low consumption (Ca & Alk) ..can live in lower Calcium tank

alkalinity are important factor for soft coral tank than calcium
monitor you alkalinity one a week

use Kalk is good

I use alot of Alkalinity buffer, Seachem Reef Builder, about 2 tsp every 2 days in my 55 gal.

Also 1 tsp of Kalkwasser in a gallon of top off about every third day.

Very rarely a bit of Calcium buffer if things are getting a bit on the low side.

Also, about 15 gal. Weekly to every other week water changes to which I add 2 tsp of Alk buffer to get it up to display tank range.

It really does depend on the tank though. But Alk. is the biggie in my opinion.
