Is RC worth 8 more dollars per 200 g box? I usually buy in bulk and have always used IO. Some other reefers use the RC.
Reef crystals>instant ocean?

I have heard they are pretty much the same, But i think RC is slightly higher in alk and mag

My most recent batch of IO was a little low on the calcium side @ 400...I mix to 1.026 sg, and I've noted a small amount of ammonia present as well (.25), but probably just this batch.
Prior to this bag of salt, I had a bag of RC, and calcium on that was 480, and no ammonia.

Where i am its like $25.00 more for a bucket of RC over IO. Most of my peers use RC but i havent made the switch. Been very happy with IO so far and havent noticed anything spectacular in other tanks that use the RC.
On the other hand my tank is only about 8 months old. Perhaps it has some long term benefits, but until im proved wrong ill keep that extra $25.00 in my pocket.
