Reef Dynamics skimmer

I ordered an ins180 today from Reef dynamics. I will be building a new sump with refugium around it. I need to upgrade my current sump and skimmer combo. After watching all the videos that Jeff the owner made with L.A. fishguys on youtube I was sold. He used to own Euro reef then changed the name to Reef dynamics. They call him the Skimmer Man. Once I get the new skimmer I will keep everone posted on the whole project. I can't wait :bounce2:.

Good to hear E.intheC. Salthobby I know what you mean. Keep it in the USA. I have never been sold on the bubble plate skimmers. I'll have to sell my ETSS reef devil and old sump when I get the new stuff set up. Email from UPS said it would be here on the 23rd. It really will be a great Christmas.

I just received my INS350E and I bought his sump/refugium as well. I don't have my tank yet so I can't comment other than I saw the videos and I liked the basic design.

I have a customized Reef Dynamics.......basically an INS80 that was made into an INS100 with a custom elongated neck and cup. Jeff sent me pics of the skimmer while he was testing it and I have been very impressed with the skimmer. I've had Euro-Reefs and now this Reef Dynamics. You won't be disappointed!!

I don't think bubble plates are a gimmick, I think they work great on different skimmers. I have two ER skimmers excellent build quality.

I own two old ER skimmers, RC500 & rs250 which will be modded to a RC250 in the near future. He makes great stuff & like menioned made here in the states.

Plus.... Jeff is a fan of RUSH :) Not many of us left who like that band!!

I am considering his new NoPo bio pellet reactors, looks like a great design!

I'll have to follow along. I am seriously considering his INS400 or INS400E along with his sump/refugium setup to replace my current sump and Hurricone skimmer. Need to quiet my tank down before the wife throws me out.

I built my sump this past weekend. 20 gallon tank with glass baffles. Looks great with the skimmer in it's section. I hope to install it all this coming weekend. Happy New Year!!!

I agree with the majority, the plastic is all superficial literally. The bubble plate again depends on the shape, but the pump is the most important. If you are getting an awesome pump then kudos!

I'm done with the project. I have some really great pics but I can't get them on Reef Central from my iphone. Any help with downloading them would be great. Thanks.

Not to show my age, but I saw the Exit Stage Left tour.....just awesome!

Let's see some pics of that thing in action.

A show of hands was my first concert..... then presto & finally snakes & arrows

yea, awesome stuff!!! I hope to catch them again when they are on tour.... hopefully drag the kids along :) Doubt my wife would go

Speaking of my wife... waiting on her to download some pics from her camera to the computers, then I can post pics.

i have to say i love rush - sorry its not on subject but i had to add it for the rush fans

I hate to be the "downer" of the group but I have a EuroReef CS 8-2 and it's only worked properly twice in the 6 years I've had it. When I say "worked properly I mean that it pulled nasty skimmate out of my tank only on two occasions. I'm very disappointed with it. I did all my research before I bought it, watched the youtube videos, and even spoke to Jeff himself, but it still doesn't work properly. I even upgraded the pump. But overall I consider it a very good aerator or "airstone" for my tank and that's all.

I can't seem to figure out why it doesn't create a nice frothy skimmate on a regular basis. I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong.

I'm glad that everybodys EuroReefs( now Reef Dynamics) are working great. I just wish mine was as well. I'll keep trying to figure it out.

i had a euro reef and it worked great!!!! i only got rid of it cause i was struggling with algae and was wondering about my skimmer, i contacted Jeff and sent him the specs, it was built for 120gallon tank at most, more likely a 80 gallon tank. i bought it used from a guy here who told me it was capable of a 220(my tank size).
i was gonna buy another one but i live down the street from Geo and found a great deal on a used one from a friend.......still built in USA!!!! :D
