I am want to add some fish to my tank I have a 65 gallon 20gall sump, with zoos, mushrooms, zenia, frogsponge, hammer coral, cap, and a sps. I have a set of clowns, blue tang, and a flame angel. what can I add am looking a redhawkfish, manderian goby (june, july) the tank is 7months old. I want cool and interactive fish.

be careful cause hawkfish will sometimes eat your inverts. Mandarin or Psychedelic Dragonets are a good choice, very colorful and a great conversation piece, have you every considered a bassalet, firefish, or blennies?

Blennies are very fun, interactive fish, adorable faces, and suitable to your tank size. Reef safe, too. There might be 1-2 exceptions, so do your research.

I plan to put blennies in my tank.

when they say not reef safe does that mean softy, sps, lps or just depends on fish depending on what it likes. I could get a non reef fish that loves softs and it would be fine in a sps,lps tank am i reading that right

The flame angel can be considered not reef safe sometimes :) It really depends on the fish...some will nip at polyps, some will nip at sps, but every fish's personality is different

Coral Beauty but you need to get your flame angel out, six line wrasse, yellow tang, fox face, blennies. Orange star fish or linkia star.

i vote a big no no on the linkia....most of the time in captivity they starve to death
other fish:
cardinals
court jester goby
watchman goby
somewrasses

In a 65, I'd not put a Foxface, or any tangs.. Not nearly enough swimming room..

Also a ditto on the no stars.. They're pretty high maintenance.. And if they die, they usually do so behind your rock.. :P

thanks everyone on the responces i have a lot to pick from. butter flies, hogs and hamlets are they out seem to be non safe aswell. no one mentioned anthias are they ok i believe they are.

pretty sure i know the answer cant put another type of clown fish since i already have a set. correct me if im wrong thinking of a tomato,or a cinimun. what about box/trunks

what is the deal with anthias they say they can be a very dificult fish to have but great for reefs it doesnt say why they are difficult though

ok here is a list of what I like what do you think: neon blue cleaner goby, green mandarin, school of chromis, scotty fairy wrasse, six line wrasse, purple firefish goby, orange lawnmower blennie, blue spotted watchman goby, court jester goby, can you keep more of one kind like the gobys and blennies and wrasse

Do you have a refugium? Anthias and mandarins need a fairly good source of live food as they hunt all day. I'd strongly suggest a fuge that has been set up for at least a month in order to have luck with either species. A refugium can be fairly easy and inexpensive to install. You can basically tap off your pump with a valve and gravity feed back to the sump.

i have a regular sump, i had to take the refug out to get a bigger skimmer, the tank has been set up for 8 months. i didnt know about the anthias being a scavinger i knew the mandarin was. can you buy baby pods and add them to the display 1x a month to have a constant supply, i would only have the mandarin if that is the case
