Reef gallery grand opening...

someone take some pictures. i won't be able to make it all the way out there today, but would like to at some point in the future.

I might- cant get there until 730 ish.

Oh come on Mondo/Justin - it is only about 90 minutes drive from you each way .....

I did , nice clean place. no " grand opening " stuff like a big sale or anything. 2 guys looking very tired- I am sure it was a long day for them. I got there about 7:30. I hope they do well- seems like nice guys, they had frags running from $15- 50. I liked the display tanks with the black sand bottoms.

I went this morning. They have some noce display tanks and are still populating their tanks. I am sure this will be a great shop soon.

I can go that way to work, looking online for a tank setup I noticed their advert. I haven't stopped in yet as I have a lot going on in the yard right now with fall setting in, but I can't wait to stop in there. The pictures looked beautiful.

I sent them an email and let them know they were mentioned here and folks were curious. I believe I have read discussion about them another place or two on the forum as well.

I told them they should contact the folks who run Reef Central (just because I would hate to see them post something business-wise and them not following whatever procedures are in place would keep them from posting in the future (not sure of board policy).

I specifically directed them to this thread though so maybe we'll learn a bit about their store, what plans they have, etc. From the pictures on their website, it's a beautiful. But very limited information about what they have, what they offer etc. I know our area could sure benefit from a place that took care of their tanks, had exceptional product and folks behind the counters who know what they are talking about and care ~ so I have hope that The Reef Gallery is it. I could have cried last night looking at both SW locations in my town. Can't get the poor Lionfish I think it is out of my head & there is not a thing I can do to help him.

I did finally get out there about two weeks ago. Got a copperband butterfly and a few acro frags.

Owner was very friendly and helpful. They had a really nice selection of fish, inverts, corals, and frozen foods. I didn't get to check out their dry goods too closely though, but it looked like a decent spread. Prices were very reasonable and the store was nice and clean.

It's a bit of a hike for me, so I don't know how often I'll be able to make it out, but I'll absolutely be stopping by again next time I'm in the area.

They have a Facebook page where they've been posting new arrivals that's worth checking out.

I'd say stop by if you have the chance.

I went to Reef Gallery Saturday and today. I tore down a tank and had some coral that I exchanged for credit. The owner was very generous and I am thrilled both with the credit he gave me and the corals I was able to get with it. Honestly it was so much fun and I am sure I will be back as his coral selection was nice and his prices were very reasonable.

I went to the store the other day...here is my opinion/review...

Very clean store. Never seen an aquatics store so clean. Shows pride in the store I hope they keep it up. I know others do it too I was ease dropping on the employee giving advice on livestock and it was good information not crap to mAke a sale. The coral selection is 2nd to none in terms of variety, general looks/health and price. I haven't been to any other brick and mortar store that has the selection. They did not have much of a fish selection at the time I was there but it was right before a shipment so I can not offer an opinion on their fish selection and health. Their dry good selection is limited but I suspect being a new store it's hard to know what to stock. overall I give them a 9/10 and would recommend Anyone new or a veteran in this hobby this store. They definitely got a returning customer from me. I know the importance of supporting a store is to this area and the local hobbyists!

Jramo88 - ( sorry to hijack) can you give a comment in the "get together thread " on participating/interesting or not please.

Yep - this is a pretty good new store - I hope they do well. I agree- super clean. Do they have any frozen food?Just realized I am nearly out.

I think they do have frozen food if I remember correctly. Actually Ted, you may have some of my frozen food for free. Since I took down the reef I don't really feed any of the frozen food that I have. The royal gramma is happy with Omega brine shrimp and mysis with a few pellets and flakes sprinkled in. I have Emerald Entree, krill and I am not sure what else. I can bring it Sunday to Kevin's house although you would have to put it in his freezer, (or maybe not if it keeps getting colder!). Or you can just stop by sometime for it.
