Reef keeper lite programming question

I got my RKL yesterday and I installed it without issue yesterday. Programming was pretty simple. I even installed a switch in my skimmer overflow which shuts off my skimmer if it gets too full. I am trying to put another float in my sump which will shut off my JBJ ATO if it dumps to much RODI water in my sump. The float is about an inch higher than my ATO float. When wiring up the switch yesterday with the float switch the wires weren't marked as which one was hot and ground. Can these switches be wired wrong? If not, I'm not sure where my issue is. I just want the switch to shut off the ATO if the water pushes the float all the way up. Thank you for any help.

It should not matter, what matters is weather you have a normally open or normal closed switch. Then that will control your logic for the code.

you can series connect two floats so that only use one switch outlet.
