Reef Keeper Tank of the Month is a Nano

Ya jack there seems to still be the debate about what a nano really is. Personally I feel 7 gallons should be the limit before there just considered small....

The amazing thing to me is it is still healthy after all that time. The usual nano doesn't last more than a year or so before it just looks horrid...too many nutrients and owners who lose interest. It is nice to see one of age that looks that good. So many people think you can just get a nanocube, fill it with sand, rock and water and have an instant reef...there is so much more to it than that. My first tank was a 29 gallon...that lasted 4 months before I went to the 58, then the 75, then the 125.

<~~Mine has been up since 01 and going strong, but I get what you say esp. about loss of interest but the trick for me has been to not push the envelope. Powerfilter nothin in it but a little Seachem SeaGel occasionally, small pump, couple of smaller fish, softies, giant shrooms and reef crystals two or three times a month.

And Big tanks Certinly get the wow factor, but nanos get the.:eek2: You can really do that!
