Basically, if you get an infection from your reeftank you need a prescription for doxycycline (at the very least). Just a usefull piece of information to give to your physician if this happens to you. Or alternatively get in touch with me.
Of course advanced or urgent (i.e. Trottman's) infections will require inpatient medicine.

Oh, and steaming your oysters on the half shell just save you so much time, money, and physical pain.

As I'm sure you know, there are more hazards out there than Vibrio. Mycobacterium marinum being one of them. Do you know if doxycycline will work on that, too?

Travis,
Doxy is an ok choice for initial therapy.
After Mycobacterium marinum is found on blood cultures, TB drugs like ethambutol and rifampin together, or plain Septra alone are better choices.

I guess the important thing is to put a word in your doc's ear so that they dont give you a Z-Pack and shoo you out the door. /shutter!

Uh Gabe.......I think I got Herpes from a Damsel that Nook gave to me.

Any suggestions on how to treat it or maybe a good attorney to make him pay for my suffering? :D

Don't try to twist my words! Nothing makes me more angry than when someone twists my words!

I DID NOT get Herpes from Nook.....I believe it was crabs that I got from Nook. :eek1:

I think they were on his Eurobracing. He told me that I can't get crabs from Eurobracing and he is a nurse but I don't believe him.:D
