reef life dealy

I was in late on Sunday, and Pat showed me a couple of acros that he's putting up on the block (assuming they're still there). One was a tenuis with blue tips, the other was a green I-can't-remember-the-name. :D

I was planning to come in for pieces of both, but I have a appointment with a dentist's drill this afternoon :(. After that, it's extremely unlikely that I'll feel like heading over to Reef Life.

I'm def gonna be there. Bringing a pal from Stewart, FL that is in the hobby too.

It's a long haul from Palm Beach Gardens!

I'll just keep telling myself "I'm not addicted" this is only a hobby....

:@)

Were you the fella with the tall young lady, or were you the other guy that I talked to tonight?
(Funny, none of my "pals" look like that. I must be hanging with the wrong crowd. lol)
Was that you who left with the huge cooler of frags?
I know somebody there mentioned they drove down from Palm Beach.
I was the guy in the BellSouth baseball cap.

Man, there were a lot of good pieces to choose from tonight.
Patrick is really commited to giving everyone the best deal possible and making this thing a success.
I walked away with some beautiful frags... frags, hell, one "frag" I got tonight was pretty much a whole colony by any other fishstore's standards.

Sorry for the lack of pics, but my camera broke... and I just spent the money I was gonna use for a new camera tonight at ReefLife. LOL
Hopefully, I'll be able to get mine repaired from Canon next week.

Anyway, I got some beautiful light pink bird's nest, some light blue polyp monti digi, some green milli?, another couple frags of the purple encrusting monti (I'll bring one to the next meeting auction), and he gave me a frag of pumpkin orange encrusting monti as a freebie that got cut by mistake.
Thanks Pat!
Everything I got tonight was only $5 an inch... a huge inch.
You just can't walk away with a variety of corals like this without spending several hundred $$$ anywhere else.
Even at our recent frag swap it still would've cost me 3-4 times as much for the same variety and number of frags I got last week and tonight.

I asked him tonight about the regular wed fragstravaganza, and he assured me that this thing keeps growing every week so he's not gonna be stopping it.

John, I think you got either a humillis clip or a green tenuous like piece, if it was green. And you're right, we have Wednesday Night Fragstravaganza every Wednesday from 5-8. Thanks for coming.:)

Loyalrogue, yes that was us and man did I leave with the gOOds!!!

;)

$5 a frag is an excellent deal, I have no problem driving up from Palm Beach Gardens under those parameters.

Anyone that mas missed out on this opportunity is ((BLOWING IT))

After the 30min float and slow drip to aclimate the corals it took my babe and I close to 30mins just to cut everythign out of the bags and sit them on the eggcrate to let them rest overnight from the big trip back home.

Nice to meet you and see you at FMAS on last TUe of the month.

D

Right now it looks like it's all stonies.
Maybe if enough people are interested, Pat will frag one of those nice leathers I was eyeballin' last night. ;)

Hey Scratch, it was nice meeting you, and I couldn't agree more.
With the load you took away you definitely made the most of your drive down.
(btw, "babe" is a much better description than "pal". lol)

I've always drip acclimated like you, but after talking with Pat last last about his experience and methods I decided to do it differently when I got home last night.
Instead of dripping, I just floated the bags for 15-20mins until the temp was the same and then placed them in the tank.
(I rinsed some of the excess slime off the ones he rotozipped)

Pat was right.
They opened right up and had polyps extended within 30 mins.
Now I'm a believer.

Hey Pat,
The green frags I got was from the skinny colony that was on the left as you're facing the tank from that side.
(**edit** Now that I looked at it today it definitely looks like a tenuous.)

On another note, I'm not going crazy. I found the flyer that I told you about last night. No mention of a coupon. I'll email you a copy at lunchtime.
